Meal Planning is tough, and people like things to be convenient.  Realistically, meal planning often turns into meal "grabbing".  I enjoy going to restaurants...having someone cook for me...throwing meal planning out the door from time to time...so I found this article interesting. 
Health magagzine recently put out their 10 Healthiest Place To Eat.  I took a look at the list and I am not so sure you should use it as your dietary bible, but there are some good points.  Here is what they came up with...

1. Uno Pizzeria - They got props for having nutritional info available, but I have to say pizza can be dangerous!  I would tread lightly there.

2. Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes - A buffet: healthy?  I have been there and you can certainly make pretty good choices, and I just learned in the article that all of their produce is guaranteed in-ground-24-hours prior to getting on the refridgerated truck!  Not bad!

3. Mimi's Cafe - The have a Lifestyle Low Carb menu that got them the ranks.  I have been to Mimi's and if memory serves me, they have a great grilled chicken sandwich!

4. P.F. Chang's - I guess they use soybean oil which is a bit better for you, but I know for a fact that there are a lot of bad choices here, and they happen to be the good foods!  Lettuce Wraps!!!

5. Bob Evans - What else would you go to Bob Evans for other than breakfast?  Their great seafood?  I can't imagine sitting there knowing pancakes, sausage, and eggs are on the griddle, but I am having salmon with broccoli!?!?  Not here, sorry.

6. Ruby Tuesday - I like Ruby Tuesday, and they have good options for kids too.  Health magazine also recognized that they offer turkey and veggie burger options.  I believe they have a good salad bar too!!

7. Macaroni Grill - Now supposedly they have healthy menu options, but again there are way too many dangerous options to make this place a healthy choice...the odds are against you with the sauces and the tendancy to over-indulge on the servings!

8. Chevys - Okay, Okay, Okay...trans-fat free tortillas, but it is Mexican food!

9. Olive Garden - Same as Macaroni Grill, too tough.

10. Denny's - Need I say anything?

Let's be honest here - you can make good choices wherever you go...we know that.  But this is about maximizing the odds of making better choices by meal planning better, choosing restaurants that have the most food options, because when it comes time for temptation, how good are you?
