When it comes to meal planning, fad diets come and go...some stay longer than others, but eventually they have their season.  The one that has stood the test of time is The Zone diet.  I just read an article recently that said The Zone Diet is the most popular diet among celebrities!  So when you hear about all of the celebs tyring a new diet, just know they are all coming back to The Zone.  Why?

When it comes to meal planning, The Zone offers a realistic way to enjoy permanent weight loss - because it offers meal planning that can be done for a lifetime!  I base all of my meal plans in a "Zone Diet Format"...40-30-30.  It really give the right breakdown of carbs, protein and fat for someone trying to lose weight.  If you are fitness training, you need carbs.  Last week in my blog I spoke of the carb myth.  Carbs get a bad rap, and it is really undeserved...you need carbs to have permanent weight loss, and carbs need to comprise the majority of your meal planning (appx 40%).  Protein is essential with your fitness training as well...let's face it, muscles are made from proteins, so you can't leave them out.  AND you also need fats in your diet...not saturated fats, stay away from them, but good fats can provide vital functions in the weight loss process.
